Ella Slightly Injured in Tumble

Jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, 70, took a tumble and slightly injured a leg on the stage of the Hollywood Bowl Wednesday night but came back from a short break and sang “Since I Fell For You.”
“I think the light got in my eyes,” she said today. “The lights were changing and I didn’t see that (one) step down as I moved to sing to the audience. It’s more embarrassing than anything.” Her backup trio rushed to her aid, along with people from the wings of the stage.
