Corrupt Official Executed

BEIJING — A Beijing official convicted of taking $32,500 in bribes was executed today, the official New China News Agency reported. Qiao Yonghong, 35, a department head in an electrical company, accepted the bribes from customers he was supplying with color television sets in 1985, the agency said. Chinese executions are usually done by a single bullet to the back of the head.
