Smythe and Berger Lead Metro All-Stars

Tom Smythe of Cal State Long Beach and Jon Berger of UC Irvine both hit home runs to lead the Metropolitan League to a 12-5 victory over the San Diego County Collegiate Baseball League Sunday in an all-star game at San Diego State.
Smythe had a solo home run and Berger hit a two-run homer to lead the Metro all-stars. Joe Gonzalez of Cypress College added three hits.
