Next in line for colorization: “Felix the Cat,” the “Abbott and Costello” TV series and about 90 formerly black-and-white films. To be distributed worldwide by Columbia Pictures Television, the varied fare will be colorized by Marina del Rey-based Color Systems Technology Inc., which owns many of the film titles and added that Columbia would be involved in the financing of the deal. The first color-enhanced movie to be delivered to Columbia is “Africa Screams,” starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, said Joseph Adelman, president of Color Systems’ entertainment division. Soon to follow: “The Corsican Brothers,” starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr.; “Miss Annie Rooney,” starring Shirley Temple, and the western “Kit Carson.”
