Wilder, Alvarez, Army Team Win in Pistol Shooting

Jerry Wilder of Plymouth, Ind., won the center fire pistol championship Thursday in the U.S. International Shooting Championships held at Prado Regional Park in Chino.
Wilder had a two-day score of 1,172 of a possible 1,200 points.
Chris Alvarez of Woodinville, Wash., won the junior men’s sports pistol title with a two-day score of 1,164 of a possible 1,200 points.
The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit blue team won a tiebreaker to claim the center fire pistol team match title with a score of 1,738 of a possible 1,800 points. Team members are Erich Buljung, Jimmie McCoy and Rojelio Arredondo, all of Ft. Benning, Ga.
The Oregon Civilian Pistol Club set a national record of 1,703 points in winning the junior sport pistol team match.
