I read Meltzer’s column with great disdain. He finds concerns about the next generation’s ability to afford housing “odd.” The same day’s Times Real Estate section carried two relevant articles: “Housing Affordability Skids” and “Adjustable Loan Criteria Stiffened.” Yes, the American Dream is still kicking, but it is neither totally alive nor well.
