Burkleo’s Home Run Leads Seibu Lions, 5-4

TOKYO — A two-run home run by Tyler Van Burkleo, who once played at Midland in the Texas League, led the Seibu Lions to a 5-4 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters Sunday in a Japan League baseball game.
The win increased the Lions’ lead over the second-place Kintetsu Buffaloes to 5 games. The Buffaloes lost to the Nankai Hawks, 12-3.
In another game, Dallas Williams, formerly of Indianapolis of the American Assn., hit a tie-breaking home run, his 10th of the season, to lead the Hankyu Braves to a 6-2 win over the Lotte Orions.
