The Long Beach Area Convention and Visitors Council has named D. Christopher Davis president. Davis has been serving as president and chief executive of the Corpus Christi (Tex.) Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Davis, who is expected to start his new post on Oct. 1, is taking over the slot left vacant since July 1 when former president Bill Miller accepted a position as executive vice president and chief executive of the Greater Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Davis spent 10 years at the Oakland Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he was president for six years before moving to Corpus Christi in 1987.
