Edward D. (Ted) Kissane, manager of the 750-room Sheraton Harbor Island East Hotel and the neighboring 350-room Sheraton Grand on Harbor Island, is leaving Sheraton to become vice president and regional director of operations for Beacon Hotel Co. in Boston.
Kissane, 44, has managed the San Diego hotels for three years and has worked in the Sheraton chain for 20 years.
Beacon is a Boston-based chain of 25 hotels totaling 6,000 rooms. It specializes in all-suites hotels.
Beacon now has no San Diego properties but has agreed to operate a 250-room hotel to be located in an office-hotel-retail development planned by Starboard Development and Great American First Savings Bank in downtown San Diego. Beacon also has a hotel under development in Santa Monica.
