“Family Ties” creator-producer Gary David Goldberg has been signed to a six-year, movie/TV production pact with Paramount Pictures, the studio announced Thursday. Goldberg’s UBU Productions company will take up residence at Paramount and will continue producing the TV series “Family Ties,” “Day By Day” and “Duet.” In addition, said Paramount chairman Frank Mancuso, Goldberg and UBU will be writing and producing feature films. Goldberg told The Times Thursday he was pleased with the deal’s long-term nature, quipping that “this way, I can be sure where to park my car.” He added that “family interest comedies . . . and contemporary stories about real people” would be his priorities for film projects. And there will be another series readied in the near future: “American Dreamer,” starring Robert (“Spenser: For Hire”) Urich.
