They’re All Drinking From the Wrong Cup

I am in turmoil over the America’s Cup. Call it the “Selling of the America’s Cup.”
I had noticed some pre-race Pepsi ads, with advertising for Pepsi blatantly placed on the Stars & Stripes catamaran gibsail, and had shuddered and thought “What bad taste.” But when this same advertising showed up on the boat at the actual event, my heart sank.
What can be done? Is Dennis Conner in such firm control of the rules that the race as such is forever ruined? Or could a responsible group get together and spell out some regulations restoring decency to the race? If nothing can be done, then Conner will have single-handedly ruined the sport for foreseeable time.
