Dukakis has slightly increased his narrow lead in California, according to results of a poll released Wednesday.
The poll of 1,200 registered voters by the San Francisco Examiner and KRON-TV, an NBC affiliate in the Bay Area, showed that 44% of them favored Dukakis, compared with 40% who said they would vote for Bush.
A similar poll conducted for the news organizations in late August gave Dukakis 44% and Bush 43% in the race for California’s 47 electoral votes, the most of any state in the nation.
