Oil futures prices finished higher in what analysts said was a technical rally inspired by the expiration of November options and efforts to square trading positions before the weekend. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, the November contract for West Texas Intermediate rose 28 cents to settle at $12.94 a barrel. Among refined products traded on the exchange, the November contract for wholesale unleaded gasoline rose 0.63 cent to settle at 40.13 cents a gallon, while home heating oil rose 0.22 cent to 37.46 cents a gallon.
