Wyle Laboratories said third-quarter profit rose 28% to $2.13 million on revenue of $107.9 million, a 9% increase over the year-ago period. The El Segundo marketer of high-technology electronic components and computer systems said sales for its Electronics Marketing Group were up 17% to a record $84.3 million, and operating income grew 35% to $3.8 million, compared to last year. Shipments of semiconductors and computer products were at all-time highs, although overall gross margins dropped slightly from the second quarter.
