Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : Walking Tours Offered at Upper Newport Bay

Free guided walking tours of the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve will be held Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. The tours will last about 1 1/2 hours and will begin every 15 minutes until 10:30 a.m.
Friends of Newport Bay offer these tours to introduce participants to varied wildlife and plants in this coastal marsh area; it is also an excellent bird-watching area.
The tours begin at the corner of East Bluff Drive and Back Bay Road; parking is available along East Bluff Drive. The tour is conducted along paved paths, but comfortable walking shoes are recommended. For information, call (714) 646-8009.
