3 Southeast Teams Play for CIF Titles

Three Southeast/Long Beach area high school football teams will try to win CIF championships this weekend.
Paramount High, 11-1, will travel to Orange Coast College to play Los Alamitos, 12-0-1, in the Southern Section Division III finals Saturday night. The Pirates defeated top-seeded Mission Viejo, 35-32, last week, and Los Alamitos advanced with a 19-3 win over El Modena.
El Rancho High of Pico Rivera, 11-2 after last week’s 21-6 victory over Ramona, will meet Los Altos High of Hacienda Heights, 12-1, at Mt. San Antonio College on Saturday night. Los Altos reached the finals by beating Claremont, 14-3.
South Gate High, 13-0, will play Friday night against Westchester, 10-3, in the Los Angeles City Section 3-A finals at El Camino College. South Gate beat Washington, 14-0, last week, while Westchester defeated Franklin, 27-0.
All three games start at 7:30.
