Members of the L.A. Film Critics Assn. were scratching their heads last week over a screening invitation for “Madame Sousatzka” that also reminded them how worthy the film was for award consideration. The missive from Dale C. Olson & Associates was dated and delivered Dec. 12--two days after the group met to select the year’s winners. “I’m embarrassed and slightly furious,” said Olson. He was out sick and somebody in the office goofed.
. . . In last week’s “Mississippi Burning” item, we dumbly placed reporter Harold Reyolds and managing editor Mike Tonos at the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. They actually work for the Biloxi Sun-Herald.
. . . Tri-Star Pictures has sent out a press release letting the world know it’s “proud to present the movie event of the century”--the filming of “Les Miserables.” Now, just which century is that?
. . . If you thought you were safe as long as you stayed away from Camp Crystal Lake, think again. In the soon-to-shoot “Friday the 13th: Part VIII,” that fab fiend Jason leaves his outdoorsy digs . . . and heads for the big city!
