Playboy Enterprises Inc. posted second-quarter income of $1.5 million, a 54% drop from a year ago. Revenue rose 7% to $48.5 million. The Chicago-based company noted that the 1988 quarter included a $1.9-million non-operating gain. Second-quarter net income was reduced by higher costs for paper and postage and promotion for its 35th anniversary issue.
