Ice Cream to Be Produced in Big Scoops

Carnation Co. of Los Angeles has opened an $80-million, 225,000-square-foot ice cream plant at 3701 District Blvd., Bakersfield, that is as big as five football fields.
Dick Curd, Carnation spokesman, described the plant as the “world’s biggest.”
The plant was designed and built by A. Epstein & Sons of Chicago.
