SOUTHLAND : Policeman, Children Hunted

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, England — Police today alerted airports and docks to be on the alert for a British-born California policeman who allegedly snatched his two young children from his estranged wife.
Northumbria police named the policeman as Officer Malcolm Lowery, 30, of Santa Ana, Calif. They said he is believed to be accompanied by a 20-year-old American woman friend, Kathy Marsh. Police said the children, Sarah Jane, 8, and David, 7, vanished from their home here after Lowery called there to see them last Thursday night. The children disappeared while their British mother, Barbara Lowery, 29, was in the bathroom, police said.
