Victory Gives Valley Women Share of Conference Crown

Valley College took a 23-point first half lead and breezed to an 85-55 victory over Canyons on Monday to clinch at least a share of the Western State Conference title.
Sandrine Rocher and Ruth Aguilar each scored 18 points for Valley (25-3, 10-1 in conference play), which led, 40-17, at halftime. Valley holds a two-game lead over second-place Santa Monica with two conference games remaining.
BASEBALL
Glendale 7, Mission 3--Catcher Robert Bradford, who delivered a two-run single in the seventh inning, was the lone bright spot for Mission (0-3) in a nonconference game at Glendale.
MEN’S GOLF
Led by Tom Hogarth’s two-round total of 157, Cal State Northridge is in second place with 18 holes to play in the 54-hole UC Davis Invitational at Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif.
Hogarth had rounds of 79 and 78 on Monday, one shot better than teammate Roger Metz (80-78--158). Hogarth trails Joe McCormick and Mark Hutchinson of Cal State Stanislaus, both of whom have two-round totals of 151.
