A credit union was the target of an armed robbery Thursday morning when four men hustled customers and employees at gunpoint into a back room before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
The men reached into cash drawers, safes and even the purses and wallets of their hostages at the Firestone Staff Credit Union at 7571 Commonwealth Ave., said Police Officer Rich McMillen. Two of the men were carrying weapons, possibly 9-millimeter or .45-caliber pistols, according to what witnesses told police.
McMillen said the men were described as Latino between 25 and 30 years old. They were seen driving away in a white or tan four-door compact car, he said.
