Dixieland Brass pulled away from 19-1 shot Mercedes Won in the stretch to win the $130,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Fla.
Dixieland Brass, ridden by Randy Romero, covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:44 3/5 and paid $4.40 to win. Triple Buck was third.
