A 21-year-old Riverside man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide in the death of Lee Matthew Clyde, 20, whose body was found in an El Toro motel room Monday.
Gregory Romano Benjamin was arrested at an El Toro apartment complex Monday night after information developed by investigators “pointed to this person,” said Lt. Robert Rivas of the county Sheriff’s Department.
Rivas said he had no information on a motive in the killing or the relationship between Benjamin and the victim.
Clyde, who suffered a trauma to the head, was found at 9 a.m. Monday in a room in the Quality Suites Inn in the 2300 block of Lake Center Drive. Coroner’s officials refused to provide the findings of an autopsy conducted Tuesday afternoon.
Rivas said he did not know if or when Clyde, who lived in El Toro, or Benjamin had rented the motel room. No further information was available Tuesday.
