Local News in Brief : Jackson Asks Probe of Videotaped Arrest

The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Wednesday he has asked Atty. Gen. Dick Thornburgh to look into the Long Beach incident in which a white police officer was secretly videotaped as he appeared to push the head of black activist Don Jackson through a plate-glass window during his arrest for an alleged traffic violation in January.
As a result of the phone conversation Tuesday with Jesse Jackson, Thornburgh has asked for a status report on the FBI investigation into the incident, a spokesman for the attorney general said.
