Four cars that had been set afire blew up near a stadium where Turkish Premier Turgut Ozal and Prince Rainier of Monaco and his son Albert were watching a soccer match in Cologne, West Germany.
The cars blew up shortly after the game between Galatasaray Istanbul and Monaco of France kicked off. The game, a quarterfinal match of the European Champions’ Cup, was watched by a sellout crowd of 60,000.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw and Galatasaray advanced to the semifinals.
