Westcorp Inc., an Orange-based financial services company whose principal subsidiary is Western Financial Savings Bank, reported net income of $3.2 million for the first quarter of 1989. That represents a 7% decline from the $3.4 million posted a year ago, which included a $1.4-million gain from an accounting change. Total assets rose 6% to $2.6 billion from $2.5 billion.
