Caesars World Inc.: The Los Angeles-based hotel and casino company said its profit rose 18% to $17.4 million in the third quarter, largely because of gains at its casino-hotels in Las Vegas. Sales were $221.8 million, up from $195 million a year earlier. The company also owns casinos and hotels in Atlantic City, N.J., and resorts in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains.
