Across the country at another benefit--this one in Oakland--a lifelong dream of a rock promoter who died of AIDS has become reality. “Concert Against AIDS,” the dream of promoter Zohn Artman who died 19 months ago, was kicked off this week with a series of shows by Huey Lewis, Linda Ronstadt, comedian Bob Goldthwait and others. The week will be capped off with a concert Saturday at the Oakland Coliseum featuring the Grateful Dead, Tracey Chapman, Los Lobos, Joe Satriani and Tower of Power. Tickets will go for $100 apiece and the money will go to AIDS organizations providing education and service in the Bay Area.
