SCR Hikes Price for Sondheim Show

Citing the steeper costs of mounting a musical, South Coast Repertory has raised ticket prices for “Sunday in the Park With George.” Tickets for the show, which opens June 9, run from $17 to $30, a $4 increase across the board. The $30 top is SCR’s highest ever.
Meanwhile, Stephen Sondheim fans can whet their appetites for the show by tuning to KCRW (89.9 FM) Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. for an interview with the publicity-shy composer. Sondheim, who won a Pulitzer Prize for the show in 1984, will discuss his career with Terry Gross in a rebroadcast of a special edition of “Fresh Air” which originally aired last year. KCRW is based in Santa Monica and is affiliated with National Public Radio.
