Jordan Might Be More Valuable, but Magic’s Best
- Share via
I have always been a fan of Mike Downey’s column, largely because of his sense of humor, but that changed when I realized he wasn’t kidding about Michael Jordan being more deserving of the most valuable player award.
Downey is correct when he says the Lakers without Magic are superior to the Bulls without Jordan. So what? That is not a relevant comparison of the two players.
What is important is that with the game on the line, no one is more adept at determining what needs to be done and then having the ability to get it done than Magic.
Whether it’s making three-pointers at the buzzer or giving Orlando Woolridge the encouragement that inspires a great performance in Game 1 of the Phoenix series, Magic consistently does everything necessary to make the Lakers win, game in and game out.
