Jarvis Jovan Clark, 28, of San Diego was arrested about 8 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of Andra Lasar Williams, 22, and the wounding of Torrance Nunn, 29, about 90 minutes earlier, according to Sgt. Hank Olais.

Police answered a call about 6:30 p.m. at the Harbor Villa apartment complex on 17th Street near Imperial Avenue and found Williams lying on a third-floor landing.

Williams died of multiple gunshot wounds, Deputy Coroner Max Murphy said. Nunn was struck once in the left thigh and was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center. He was listed in fair condition Thursday, hospital spokeswoman Sheri Smith said.

Nunn had been released earlier Wednesday for treatment of burns, Smith said.

Olais said Clark began firing at Nunn and Williams with a high-powered automatic weapon after an argument. Clark then drove off in a car with a woman, Olais said.

Police saw the car a short while later at Euclid and Imperial avenues and questioned the occupants, who directed officers to an Imperial Avenue hair salon.

Clark was inquiring about hairdos when police arrived and he was arrested, Olais said.
