Median Income Rises

The median income of new, single-family home buyers rose to $49,207 in 1988 compared to $44,900 in 1986, according to the National Assn. of Home Builders. First-time buyers had a median income of $41,562 in 1988, while trade-up buyers had a median income of 55,398.
