BOSTON — Oxford University has invited Gov. Michael S. Dukakis and his wife, Kitty, to teach there for one term when he leaves office next year, Mrs. Dukakis said.
In a Boston Globe interview published today, the governor’s wife, a recovering alcoholic, said she and her husband have not decided whether to accept the offer. She made her comments in Dublin, Ireland, where she is visiting.
Gubernatorial spokeswoman Susan Kaplan said Dukakis did not know of any offer from Oxford.
“If the offer has been made, the governor is totally unaware of it and is spending all his energy working on the budget,” she said.
