Man Lies on Trolley Tracks, Is Killed

A man who was struck by a San Diego Trolley while lying on the tracks Wednesday evening apparently committed suicide, police said.
Richard A. Spanic, 38, was lying on the tracks around 6:43 p.m. when a trolley ran over him at 12th Avenue and Island St.
Spanic was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
