The Marin Humane Society has posted a $1,000 reward for information about the mutilation deaths of stray kittens befriended by inmates at Vacaville state prison. The society’s executive director, Diane Allevato, said that no inmates were suspected and that the brutal slayings may have been committed to upset inmates. All of the dead kittens had been adopted as pets by different groups of inmates.
