Cypress Team Wins 2 in Softball Tournament

Missy Gyde of Kennedy High School led Gordon’s Panthers of Cypress to two victories at the Hall of Fame softball tournament Friday at Oklahoma City.

Gyde, who will attend Northwestern in the fall, had four hits in the victories, 5-1 over the Twin Creek Diamonds of Sunny Vail, Calif., and 4-1 over the Shamrocks of Vienna, Va.

Renee Pina, who attended Mission Viejo and will play for Cal State Long Beach next season, and Ivy Pinkerton of Western, who will attend California, each had two hits in the first game.
