AUSTELL, Ga. — Police shot and killed a plant worker Saturday after the man, who had just been fired, killed two co-workers, seized and released a hostage and emerged hours later firing his guns.
John Wallace, 45, shot two men, one of whom reportedly fired him Friday night, briefly held another employee hostage and then blockaded himself in an office at the Coca-Cola West Metro Sales Center, police said.
Police fired tear gas into the building about 5 a.m., and Wallace agreed to come out without his guns, police said. But Wallace emerged firing his two guns, and was shot.
