A man found dead Saturday in an East San Diego motel has been identified by authorities as Eugene Haley, 60.
Officers found Haley, a disabled veteran, dead with a gunshot wound in the chest at 5:35 p.m. at the Navajo Lodge Motel in the 5700 block of El Cajon Boulevard. Homicide detectives know no motive for the shooting and are still investigating, a police spokesman said.
