Linda Ronstadt, Ruben Blades, Jerry Garcia and Santana are set to perform two Los Angeles benefit concerts on Aug. 2 in an effort to stem the rising drop-out rate among Latino high school students. The shows, with proceeds going to the National Hispanic Education and Media Institute, will be held at the Biltmore Bowl in the Biltmore Hotel at 7:30 and 10 p.m., followed by a salsa dance featuring music by Pancho Sanchez. The concert will be videotaped for airing this fall as part of the HBO/Cinemax “Sessions” series. Concert ticket prices will range from $50 to $200.
