Boy, 4, Drowns in Pool at House in Palmdale

Afamily gathering in Palmdale ended in tragedy when a 4-year-old boy fell into a back-yard swimming pool and drowned, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Saturday.
Micah Evans was found by his parents about 8 p.m. Friday floating in the pool at the home on North Sierra Highway, Sgt. Ernie Roop said.
Roop said the boy had been playing in the yard with other family members when everyone decided to go into the house. The boy later “returned to the back yard . . . unnoticed,” Roop said.
Efforts to revive the boy failed, he said.
