Two beachgoers were injured Sunday afternoon after falling 30 feet off a La Jolla cliff to the beach below, authorities said.
Kirk Anderson, 35, and a 35-year-old woman, whose name had not been released pending notification of relatives, were walking down a trail on a cliff above the south end of Black’s Beach about 3 p.m. when they realized the trail was a false one, a spokesman for the San Diego lifeguards said.
As they tried to make their way down to the beach, they slipped and fell about 30 feet to a patch of sand and rocks below, he said.
Anderson suffered a fractured leg in the fall, while the woman received a head injury. Both were transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital and listed in stable condition Sunday night, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.
