Mike Chalenski, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive end who was expected to be a standout at the University of Pittsburgh this season, will transfer next month to UCLA, his father, Al, said from the family’s home in Kenilworth, N.J.
Chalenski made 50 tackles as a freshman last season, including 2 1/2 sacks.
A former high-school All-American, Chalenski, 19, will be eligible to play for UCLA in the fall of 1990.
