Viacom Inc.: The New York-based entertainment concern posted a net loss of $34.7 million for the second quarter, compared to a $44.7-million loss a year ago. A non-cash charge of $32.8 million related to incentive compensation contributed to the loss, the company said. Viacom reported second-quarter revenue of $364 million, 22% higher than in the 1988 period; syndication of “The Cosby Show” and increased advertising and affiliate income from MTV were cited.
