Robert E. Cano, who has served as Norco’s city manager since 1986, has been appointed El Segundo’s city manager effective Sept. 11, El Segundo officials announced Thursday.
Cano, 37, replaces Fred Sorsabal, who resigned from the post in April to become Mission Viejo’s city manager. Police Chief Frank Meehan has served as interim city manager.
Cano served as Norco’s deputy city manager and personnel director from 1983 to 1986. He was an assistant to Downey’s city manager from 1982 to 1983.
Cano, who holds degrees from USC and UC Irvine, will be paid $94,000 annually.
