African nations are determined to ban England from next winter’s Commonwealth Games as punishment for allowing its athletes to tour South Africa, said anti-apartheid leader Sam Ramsamy.
“The African nations feel the culprit countries ought to be excluded,” Ramsamy said. “As always, England is acting arrogantly.”
Anti-apartheid officials condemned an English cricket tour of South Africa and warned rugby players against a similar visit.
