P.M. BRIEFING : Airline to Link Vegas, Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA — America West Airlines said today it will offer new service at Santa Barbara through the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, beginning Oct. 1.
America West said it will have four daily nonstop flights between Santa Barbara and its Las Vegas hub, using the 37-passenger De Havilland Dash 8 turboprop.
The introductory Las Vegas fare will be $118, which must be purchased by Oct. 10, and travel must begin before Nov. 15.
On Nov. 16, America West said it will begin service to Honolulu with nonstop flights from Las Vegas and Phoenix. The airline will begin service to Vail, Sun Valley and Steamboat Springs in Colorado for the ski season.
