Venice Arts Festival Is Set

The sixth annual Venice Summer Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Sunday, featuring more than 100 booths, music from bands such as “The Bone Daddys” and a children’s game area.
The festival, whose theme is, “Celebrate Venice--a continuing tradition,” will be held on West Washington Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic from Venice Boulevard to Westminster Avenue. The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be park-and-ride lots at Broadway Elementary School, 1015 Lincoln Boulevard (at Broadway); Coeur D’Alene School, 810 Coeur D’Alene Ave., and Chiat-Day Advertising, 320 Hampton St.. The $3 parking fee will be donated to the festival.
Profits from the event will be donated to the Oakwood Youth Recreational Programs and for tree-planting on West Washington Boulevard.
Entertainment will feature Musicians Against Crack. An autographed jersey from Los Angeles Raiders running back Marcus Allen will be auctioned off. Raider Hall-of-Famer Willie Brown will sign autographs and give away a four-day cruise.
