Woo Meets Filers of Redevelopment Suit

Three members of an officially disbanded citizens’ advisory committee on Hollywood redevelopment met Wednesday night with Los Angeles Councilman Michael Woo in an effort to settle a lawsuit the group has brought against the city.
Both sides said Thursday that the meeting did not produce a breakthrough, but said they agreed to meet again next month.
“We talked, which I guess could be considered promising in itself since I haven’t directly talked to (them) in a long time,” said Woo, who represents the Hollywood area. “But in terms of specifics there was nothing.”
Robert Nudelman, chairman of the Hollywood Project Area Committee, said the meeting lasted 45 minutes and was dominated by complaints from both sides about their strained relationship. “There had been three years of bad blood building up,” he said.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge last month urged the two sides to meet and settle their differences. The committee sued the city in June after the City Council voted to disband the panel and replace it with one appointed by Woo.
