San Pedro Plays Alaska in Little League Tourney

The San Pedro Eastview All-Stars play the Alaska state champion Monday in a first-round game of the Western Regional Little League Tournament at Al Houghton Park in San Bernardino. Game time is 8 p.m.
The champion of the Western Regional advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Eastview advanced to regional play by winning the Southern California Tournament last week. Eastview, which went unbeaten in the tournament, defeated Plaza Little League of Long Beach, 17-7, in the title game at Culver City Park.
Fourteen teams from 13 Western states compete in the Western Regional, which began Saturday and runs through Aug 19.
Eastview is managed by Joe DiLeva, Nick Lusic and Mark Gragas. Players on the team include Ryan Albano, Vicky Brucker, Joey Danelo, James Ditch, Iggie Galaz, Tim Harper, Chris Hevener, Michael Lennox, Anthony Pesusich, Angel Quintero, James Santos, Gary Sloan, Joe Sulentor and Steve Williams.
